Due to the natural disasters that occurred in Japan in early March of 2011. My trip to Tokyo, Japan was cancelled and my flight was rerouted to South Korea. Although my itinerary changed, I was still excited about my trip to Asia.
 

One of the places I  visited in South Korea was the Hanbok Village aka the Korean Folk Village. It is about an hour away from Seoul by bus. This is also where most historical dramas were filmed, including two of my favorite dramas- Jewel of the Palace and Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

 

  

Big Buddha & The Wisdom Path- Lantau Island, Hong Kong

                                         

 

During my trip to Hong Kong, I visited the Big Buddha which is located at the very top of Lantau Island.
The big Buddha statue symbolizes peace and harmony across all cultures, races, and religions. From what my friend told me, it is also the largest Buddha in the world.

Not so far from the Big Buddha is the Wisdom Path also known as The Heart of Sutra Wood Inscriptions.  The inscriptions on the wooden pillars are actually one of the best known Buddhist prayers. As I walked by the wooden obelisks, they reminded me of all the ancient Chinese dramas I watched during my childhood- where a highly -skilled martial artist fly gracefully into the air, and as he descends he pulls out his sword to inscribe on blocks of stone (on the mountainside).

                                                             

Although there are other attractions on Lantau Island, I find the Wisdom Path to be the most captivating. It is artistic and meaningful, and the scenery of the mountainside add a serenity feeling to it. When I was there, I felt a sense of enlightenment and tranquility.  I think aside from being a tourist attraction, it is a nice place for meditation.

My sister and friend took so many photos of themselves, I think they should just enjoy being there at the moment instead. 

  The wooden pillars are arranged into an infinity symbol. I didn't even noticed this until my sister mentioned to me.

If you want to visit Lantau Island, you can get there by a ferry or cable car.

The Princess' Man (Korean version of Romeo and Juliet during the Joseon era.)

I'm currently watching The Princess' Man drama starring Park Shi Hoo and Moon Chae Won. After watching it to episode 14, all I can say is that this drama is awesome! The casting is great and storyline is so intriguing. I definitely recommend this drama to anyone who loves watching a beautiful, yet tragic love story of a pair of star-crossed lovers. This series has 24 episodes, so enjoy watching it!
